CrossFit OL1 Trainer

I grew up playing sports, and fell in love with volleyball at an early age. After high school, I had the opportunity to play at the highest collegiate level, at the University of Missouri. CrossFit actually came into my life in high school when I was training for volleyball at a CrossFit gym that had a high school sports training program. After a brief lapse from CrossFit during college, I eventually found my way back (after attempting for a brief time to workout solo after I graduated). I craved the team atmosphere of working out alongside other people, and the motivation that a competitive atmosphere provides. For me, CrossFit fills the competitive void that was left after my collegiate volleyball career ended. I enjoy pushing my body to the limit and learning new skills. Coming to the gym is one of my favorite parts of the day. I attribute exercise as positively contributing to not only my physical health but my mental health as well. I recently completed my PhD in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis, and I currently works as the Associate Director of the Hook Center for Educational Renewal, which is in the College of Education Department at the University of Missouri. If I'm not at work or the gym, you can most likely find me on a trail walking my goldendoodle, Milo, with my husband Brock.
